I stood there.
And totally, utterly, confused.
"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT!?" I shouted. I stared down at my hands, which had become reptilian as they were covered in black, red, orange and yellow scales.
"I told you, moron! You have the ability to harness nature!"
"Hey! Shove it up your own ass! Your not the one who was human one moment, and fricken flame-lizard the next!"
I glared at Lachie angrily. Lachie was an okay guy. He was slightly shorter than me, brown wavy hair and a pretty tough build. He could easily out run me in a race, but it wouldn't take a lot of effort on my half to slap him to the ground.
And I was really close to doing so.
So.... your probably wondering what this is all about.
Well, my name is Pat, I'm tall for my age, also big, not only in muscle, but I got a bit of fat on me as well. I got short brown hair, that's slightly lighter than Lachie's, and tanned skin.
Me and Lachie had been best buds since the start of high school. At first we didn't even talk to each other. But eventually we started talking to each other and finally, we were great buds. He would always notice something odd, I would follow up with something completely random, and we would have a great time.
Anyway, I had just found out that my Native American bloodline was odd, since I had the ability to harness all forms of nature. Fire, Water, Earth, Air, Light and Dark. Right now, I was in fire form. Which, in case you didn't get it before, was a giant humanoid lizard with yellow, orange, red and black scales.
Also I have a tail.
That's the only upside.
But it's a pretty sweet bonus.
Have you ever scratched your armpit with your tail?
No? Cause I have, and it is awesome!
Anyway, the story, right.
"I can not believe this..." I said as I tried to grasp the situation. I tried to sit down on the chair, but my tail didn't seem to fit.
"Look, I know it seems crazy, but I've been reading up on it, and this is an ancient bloodline thing, stretching all the way back to you first Native American ancestor!" Lachie said excitedly, which he quickly wasn't when flames jumped from my nostrils.
"Ok, I know this looks bad, but your like, a superhero now!" A smile beamed on his face.
"I... I guess I kinda am, aren't I?" I said, thinking about how many chicks, would dig me if they knew.
"So do you know how to turn back? Your kinda burning the carpet...." Lachie said nervously.
"Um... Nope. Does it say anything in that book?" I asked.
"No, this is just a book of legends. Nothing about the details."
"Figures..." I said as I tried to sit down again, and this time ended up breaking he chair. "God damn it!" I exclaimed. "Just turn back!"
And I did.
My arms shortened, my scales retreated, my tail went back and my bones and organs made disgusting noises as they formed back.
"Huh..." I said as I looked down at my perfectly now normal hands.
"This is incredible! We have to tell people about this!" Lachie nearly yelled as he ran to the phone.
"WAIT!" I shouted as he had nearly pressed two.
"What is it?" Lachie asked as he put down the phone.
"I need to find out how to use this...'thing'... before we tell anyone about it." I thought carefully.
"You may be right. Ok, so you train your powers, and I'll try an find out as much as I can before you go public."
"We" I said sternly.
"We are a team. I am not going to be an asshole and stop you from getting any of the recognition that you deserve.
He grinned. I could tell that he really liked the idea of being known instead of ignored.
As he ran off to the computer, I could tell that this is going to be very interesting...
